OPINION: They're called the Raiders for a reason

In September, the Las Vegas Stadium Authority allocated an additional $75 million in public funds for a plaza outside Allegiant Stadium, which is only six years old. This decision raises the total amount of public financing for the stadium to approximately $725 million.

During a brief meeting, despite the presence of only one board member in person, no one on the board challenged the proposed funding. Various notable figures from different sectors attended, but they did not question the rationale behind the allocation or propose alternative uses for the funds that could benefit the public more directly. A lone member of the public attempted to voice concerns, underscoring the perceived lack of transparency and the distribution of funds meant for community welfare.
