Aces Face Possible Elimination at Home, Trail Valkyries 2-0

The Las Vegas Aces are at risk of an untimely offseason following their 2-0 deficit against the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA semifinals. Coach Becky Hammon remains optimistic about the Aces’ chances of winning three consecutive games and reaching the finals, but acknowledges the pressure they face. The Aces will host Game 3 on Friday night.

Hammon emphasized that past achievements don’t guarantee success in the current season; each game presents its own challenges. Las Vegas has struggled with rebounding, being outrebounded 82-50 in the first two games. Center Kalani Brown highlighted the need for the team to match the Valkyries’ scrappiness in securing rebounds, while Valkyries point guard Veronica Burton maintained that they remain focused on their own performance rather than the Aces’ championship history. As the series shifts back to Las Vegas, the Aces will need to enhance their communication amid the intense atmosphere expected from the home crowd.
